Overview

Departure from Marrakech to the economic capital of Morocco at 7:00 am, Casablanca which literally means “the white house”, referring to the ruins of a whitewashed house that served as a landmark for Iberian sailors who sailed in the area. Casablanca is a stunning metropolis, varied in tradition and ultra modernism, it has inherited a rich art-deco heritage.

Step 1: Hassan II Mosque

First step in the discovery of the economic capital of Morocco, the majestic Hassan II Mosque, the second largest mosque in the world open to non-Muslims, this mosque is absolutely extraordinary : the highest minaret in the Muslim world, the largest prayer space in Africa, and a true symbol of the city. A mix of modern techniques and ancient Moroccan know-how. It will offer a superb visit!

Step 2: Old Medina

Then the souk of the medina Bab Marrakech is the old medina surrounded by ramparts

Considered the oldest district of the metropolis, Bab Marrakech was created in the 20th century. There are also charming little hotels that date from the protectorate era, it is very pleasant and allows you to discover the daily life of the inhabitants

Step 3: United Nations Square

Another curiosity: the United Nations Square, makes the link, like a bridge between the past and the present, it is the meeting point of the main arteries. You can find everything nearby: a tram station, the souk, luxury hotels, restaurants, cafes, shops but also banks, headquarters of large companies, travel agencies … visit the bar of the Hyatt Regency, famous setting of the film interpreted by Humphrey Bogart and Ingrid Bergman for a last coffee break.

Step 4: The Corniche and Morocco Mall

On the other hand, the Corniche, another flagship place of the city was accommodated in the 20s. It alternates beaches, swimming pools, cafés and other places of entertainment very crowded with the Casablancans on weekends.

Then the big Morocco Mall For some it’s the best for last, Morocco Mall opened in 2011, Morocco Mall is the 20th largest shopping center in the world and the 2nd largest in Africa. A true national pride, it is a shopping paradise and one of the most important symbols of Casablanca’s economic dynamism.

Inside you will find the most important international chain stores but also many attractions such as an aquarium, an ice rink and an amusement park.
